Thayer Street
I was asked to create a brochure that would help promote local businesses that provide beauty products to their customers. I needed to know the surrounding areas of the locations on Thayer Street , as well as the specific type of products I would need to look for in the various stores. I conducted research at each of the four stores that I had visited with my group. The research included looking up business hours, special promotions, having a look at the different products offered, as well as asking questions to the employees. In order to complete the assignment I had to collaborate with my group on the places to research, ask questions about the products after entering each store, then evaluate them as well. Once finished with my group and I gathered the information provided to us and started to create a brochure. The brochure then made references to the hours, products, as well as other important information each store provides. The completed project includes a brochure with different beauty stores, their location, hours, products, as well as a map of Thayer Street. And what the definition of beauty is. The suggestions included adding more details to my text boxes, as well as surrounding areas. I learned more about Photoshop, as well as how to properly create a brochure. If I were to do the project again I would add more pictures and colors to the background of the brochure.

The project was to create three ads that incorporated the principles and elements of design.
What were your input factors? What did you need to learn or know before you could begin the assignment?
My input factors included a design outline, a computer, as well as how to use Microsoft Publisher.
What research did you do and where?
My research included looking up images from Google Images.
Describe the process in detail. List the steps you followed in order to complete each the assignment.
Being taught how to use Microsoft Publisher was the first step, from there a template needed to be chosen, then another two templates were chosen after the first one, proceeding those steps we had to redesign the first or second flyer, finally it had to be uploaded on Weebly after changing it to a JPEG.
When you have completed the assignment, describe the output/product in detail.
The first product was a dog sitting business that included the same color scheme of black and pink, the second was a softball clinic flyer that incorporated a variety of images that did not have a certain color scheme but was still colorful, the final output was the softball clinic ad redesigned using black and white, as well as some of my own designs.
Describe feedback you received during the project (suggestions, comments, etc). from peers and the instructor. How did you use this feedback to correct issues with your project? The pictures I was suing for my softball clinic ad did not look right and the space was not up to the standards I wanted them to be at. Therefore, I had to look up multiple pictures to help make my design pop and look even.
What did you learn during the assignment such as programs, tools, skills, design concepts, software, hardware? I learned about a new program called Microsoft Publisher, and how to use it, as well as how to look for different image sizes n Google Images.
If you were to do the project again, what would you do differently and why? I would try to incorporate new aspects of elements and principles.

The ad currently being portrayed was completed through a few graphics classes. The ad is promoting makeup removing towelettes that not only remove the buyer's makeup, but also helps cleanse the skin. The elements that are presented in this ad include color and space. The colors that are presented have the same theme or are different shades of pink or red. This helps emphasize the color element of the ad. There is some negative space in the ad but the majority of it is covered. If it is not covered that is to help make the central image pop. The principles presented are emphasis and balance.
